The Status Quo

The Status Quo is a satire that highlights immigrants and is told through an on-line social network. GetIt is the latest networking, job-hunting, site. It consists of a whopping number of lists and a baffling whirlpool of in-your-face buzz words. Each new friend request or message on GetIt then becomes a story about an immigrant. Dawya, the main character, meets the other immigrants and describes their stories to the narrator on GetIt. The stories are told through Dawya's immigrant perspective. The narrator is an exile located in Dawya's country of origin.
