To blossom, within you

For Bjelošević, writing is an absolute act of creation, from inspiration and euphoria to catharsis, purification, asceticism as much as hedonism. Bjelošević’s poetry is anthropocentric, based on contrast as a creative principle. He writes in oxymoron and paints with synesthesia, juxtaposing time planes (contemporary and archaic); poetics (avant-garde and traditional); origins (personal and general); socio historical perspectives (turmoils, upheavals, wars); civilization heritage (ancient, European, the so-called American dream), geographical and demographic levels (local and global, within bor- ders and far beyond them).Opposite to the metaphysical world is tangible reality, intuitive currents versus rational awareness, essential and existential, believers and religious versus lay indifference, confirmation of cultural and national identity through religion, language and writing in relation to meaninglessness and the tragedy of self-denial.Željka Avrić, Serbia, 2023
